BN is Not Racist

The Barisan Nasional (BN) does not practise racism as claimed by the opposition parties although the coalition is made up of race-based parties.

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir (see his biography ) or (see his speech) said although there were parties within the BN that were set up based on race, this did not mean that the party was racial.

"All this while, the opposition had always portrayed the BN as a race-based party," he told reporters after participating in the forum titled "Voices: Emerging Malaysian Leaders", here last night.

Zambry was among the four panel members participating in the forum organised by the consultant firm,KRA Group.

The three other panelists were Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Gan Ping Siew and Senator V. Subramaniam.

At the forum attended by about 200 people comprising academicians and corporate figures, various political issues in Malaysia were discussed including the opposition claim that BN practised racialism.

Zambry said that the opposition parties such as the DAP were the ones practising racialism.

"Despite the opposition claim that we purportedly adopt racial politics, we notice that the DAP history shows the party (DAP) contests in areas where the Chinese form the majority," he said.

He said that if the DAP was truly a party for all races, why did the party not field its candidates in Malay-majority constituencies in the general election.

Earlier, Zambry held a meeting with Singapore investors and they had expressed interest to invest in Perak particularly in real estate and mining. TheSundayDaily

Ramasany, Nga to face DAP disciplinary committee

Ramasany

Nga Kor Ming

Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P. Ramasamy and Perak DAP secretary Nga Kor Ming are to face the DAP disciplinary committee on Thursday over separate issues.

The committee's chairman, Tan Kok Wai, said the committee will look into the complaints lodged against Ramasamy over various breaches of discipline and the allegation that Nga abused his powers as a state executive councillor during the administration of the PKR-DAP-PAS opposition pact in Perak.

"The committee will meet on Thursday at 4 pm to look into these," he told Bernama when contacted.

Four complaints have been lodged against Ramasamy while one complaint has been brought by the party's Greenwood branch in Ipoh against Nga.

Ramasamy was involved in war of words recently with DAP chairman Karpal Singh, which resulted in a gag order being imposed and the party's top leadership forming a three-man panel to resolve the issue.

The high-powered panel -- comprising DAP lifelong advisor Dr Chen Man Hin, DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng -- announced that the "godfather-warlord" spat was over.

However, at a press conference held at his office in Penang today, Karpal Singh called for a meeting of the disciplinary committee soon to decide on the complaints lodged against Ramasamy.

In response to the call, Tan said the disciplinary committee had actually set Thursday to discuss the matter as its members were busy with the Chinese New Year "open house" events over the past few weeks.

"I hope the party members will not go to the media to highlight the party's disciplinary matters. He (Karpal Singh) can always call me to check when we are going to meet," he said.

Tan also said that besides the Ramasamy and Nga issues, the disciplinary committee would also probe a demonstration by a group of party members against Johor DAP chief Dr Boo Cheng Hau in Muar, Johor, in December last year.

The group was reportedly unhappy with Boo who, it claimed, had planned to field his own candidate to contest the Bentayan state seat in Johor in the next general election.

Sexy & I Know It (LMFAO) Hakka Version Popular On Internet

KOTA KINABALU: A Sabah-made Chinese New Year video greeting in Hakka is the latest clip to have gone viral with close to 300,000 views within 10 days.

Photographer-cum-artistic dance assistant Skyler Liew, 30, who directed the music video, posted the 3.35-minute clip on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNWud5N2aRE&feature=youtu.be) on Chinese New Year midnight, without any expectation.

“I was surprised it became so popular. The music video was nothing serious as we did it for fun and for the sake of making people (Malaysians overseas) feel at home,” he said.

Using dancers from the Synergy Dance Studio here, owned by his brother Christopher, and shot using a Pentax DSLR camera, the video was filmed at various locations around the city a day before Chinese New Year.
